Casey Daugherty is a literacy specialist with Republic R-III Schools in Republic, Missouri. Also a teacher consultant with the National Writing Project, Casey serves as a professional development facilitator for the Missouri Writing Projects Network. In her public education career, Casey received the Toyota International Teacher Award and the Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching from the U.S. State Department. She is an advocate for health and wellness in the classroom through Breathe for Change, and she is passionate about literacy. During the pandemic, Casey invited online audiences to daily #WriteWithMe sessions to encourage the powerful healing that writing can produce.
